20th November 2018: For the third time Unipart Logistics have won the Aftermarket Award at the 2018 Automotive Global Awards – this time with a key customer, McLaren Automotive.
Unipart Logistics and McLaren Automotive were selected as winners for their collaboration to drive and deliver quantifiable improvements to customer service. The 2 companies built an aftersales business through combining Unipart’s supply chain expertise and systems with McLaren’s innovation and customer focus.
In 2017, McLaren and Unipart opened a regional distribution centre in Mechanicsburg, US, which has created a step change in customer service. It has significantly reduced turnaround times for McLaren retailers to a next morning service.
Commenting on the award, Claire Walters, Unipart Logistics Chief Commercial Officer, said “The launch of the McLaren US Regional Distribution Centre was a real success thanks to the collaboration, determination and hard work of teams from both organisations in both the UK and the US.”
