Reflecting on the Defence Support Training & Transformation Conference 2024

Unipart Logistics was delighted to participate in and contribute to the Defence Support Training & Transformation Conference 2024, co-hosted by Defence Support and the Defence College of Logistics, Policing and Administration (DCLPA) on February 15th.

Simon Wheelton, Director of Aerospace, Defence & Utilities at Unipart Logistics, commented on the event:

“Unipart Logistics was delighted to be invited to support and present at the Defence Support Training & Transformation Conference 2024. This was a really excellent, informative and thought-provoking conference with speakers from Defence, industry and academia. Ensuring a whole force approach, from across the support sector, is crucial to building and maintaining resilient, effective and agile solutions that underpin support advantage as the UK Defence transforms to meet the challenges of current and emerging requirements. The Conference demonstrated a shared vision and sense of purpose, with people at the core”.

Chris Dixon, Unipart Consultancy Director, spoke at the event on the new and powerful approach to contemporary leadership – The Emotional Capital Report, which focuses on how you will react as a leader in challenging work environments. Emotional Capital can become the multiplier of more traditional leadership training, as an Emotionally Intelligent leader is 20% more effective, according to Capgemini1. An Emotionally Intelligent leader is one that understands their own feelings and those of others, to ensure they can perform in all situations. Emotions determine whether or not people will work well with you, engage, hire you, or enter into business with you. The value of positive morale, engagement and commitment eventually shows up in financial performance, i.e. Emotional Capital.

At Unipart Logistics, we’re committed to supporting initiatives that prioritise collaboration, innovation, and people-centric strategies. Our belief in the power of collective effort resonated strongly throughout the conference. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the organisers, speakers, and fellow participants for making this event memorable.
